Emma Bridgewater Goldfinch in Spruce 1/2 Pint Mug

Description

The brightly-coloured finch, with its striking black and yellow wings, is easy to spot on this Goldfinch In Spruce 1/2 Pint Mug. As the pattern on this garden birds mug shows, goldfinches love the protection afforded by the dense evergreen branches of spruce trees in the winter. These conifers shelter them from harsh wind and the cold. The birds may even forage on seeds from the spruce cones or in the upper branches, thanks to their slender, delicate beaks. Goldfinches are also a familiar sight at garden feeders, loving fine nyjer seeds so make sure your bird feeder is made from fine mesh to keep out hungry pigeons and squirrels.
